You can have them completely online now, where everybody would meet in an online chat room, or use a service like Skype. There are also a number of programs that you can download as free trials, or purchase that links all of the employees together. They are specialized meeting computer programs. Even though you can do everything online, most people still prefer having their business meetings within an office in their work building or in conference venues close to their company.

A conference venue is much more personal, since you are in the same room as everybody involved in the meeting. You can share all the required materials among yourselves and actually touch the materials. You can also record what is going on. Some people choose to do an online meeting because of the ability to record and e-mail the meeting. You can record a meeting when you are face to face as well.
